Woofer
Privacy Policy

Your privacy belongs in the Den, too.

Last updated: September 30, 2026

Woofer is a place for the furry community to share, connect, and build Paw Pages. Privacy is part of the furniture here, not an afterthought.

Privacy, in human words

  • We collect the information needed to run your account and the things you choose to share.
  • Your login email and birth information are private. You control who can see your Paw Page and social content.
  • Private messages are for their participants. We do not routinely read them.
  • We do not sell personal information, run targeted advertising, or use your content to train Woofer AI models.

1. Who runs Woofer

Woofer is operated by Woofer LLC in Kansas, United States. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Woofer LLC.

For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@woofersocial.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

We collect account and profile information such as your email address, handle, display name, pronouns, bio, avatar, Paw Page settings, and anything else you choose to add. We also collect private birth-date or age information to apply Woofer’s age and safety rules.

We collect content and interactions you create: Woofs, replies, Treats, guestbook notes, Pack Mate requests, blocks, Paw Page content, uploads, captions, alt text, and page-music choices.

We also collect private messages and attachments, reports, feedback, support requests, and communications you send us.

Optional Google and Discord sign-in

If you choose to sign up, log in, or connect an account with Google or Discord, that provider authenticates you and supplies your account identifier, email, and basic profile information to Supabase Auth. We use this information to connect the sign-in method to your Woofer account. Your provider password is not shared with Woofer. Choosing this option tells the provider that you are signing in to Woofer; it does not give the provider access to your Woofer profile, private messages, or uploads.

Information created when you use Woofer

We collect limited technical and operational information needed to run and protect Woofer, including sign-in and session information, browser and device details, IP address, security events, error logs, feature-use totals, storage use, and activity timestamps. We use aggregate operational analytics for service health and improvement; we do not use private-message content for analytics.

Optional content-search features

If you use a Paw Page panel to search for books, shows, music, or games, Woofer may send the search words to the relevant catalog provider through Woofer’s servers. We do not send that provider your Woofer account identity or let it track a visitor directly through your Paw Page.

If you join Discovery and choose to show a city or state, Woofer may send that place text to a map provider to find a city or region center for distance sort. Woofer does not use your device’s location, and it does not send your name, handle, or account id. The center is not shown to other members.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate your account and Paw Page; apply your audience and privacy choices; store and deliver uploaded media; communicate about security and support; detect and investigate abuse; maintain and improve Woofer; comply with law; and enforce our rules.

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we process information to provide Woofer and perform our agreement with you, for our legitimate interests in operating and protecting the community, to comply with law, or with your consent where required. You may withdraw consent at any time.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral or targeted advertising.

4. Who can see your information

What other people can see depends on the audience and privacy settings for the feature. A public Paw Page can be viewed by anyone with its link; a Paw Page limited to members or Pack Mates is limited accordingly. Your email address, birth date, password credentials, and private account-security information are not public profile fields.

Private messages are intended for the two people in the conversation. If a participant reports a message, the selected message and limited relevant context may be included for human safety review. We may also access information when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or security issues, protect people, comply with law, or enforce our rules.

5. Service providers and disclosures

We use providers to run Woofer, including Supabase for authentication, database, and realtime functions; Cloudflare for private media infrastructure; Vercel for hosting; Resend for transactional email; and Mapbox when you choose to place a Discovery city or state.

Optional Paw Page catalog searches use Google Books, TVmaze, iTunes/Apple Music, and SteamGridDB through Woofer’s servers. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or authorities when necessary to comply with law, protect people, investigate abuse, or protect Woofer’s security. If Woofer is reorganized, sold, or transferred, relevant information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy and applicable law.

6. Automated safety checks

When enabled, Woofer uses OpenAI’s Moderations API only for content a member has reported. Woofer checks reported text against a locally managed keyword list; a match may send that text for classification. Eligible reported pictures and images attached to a reported Woof may also be classified. We do not scan uploads or browse private libraries as a routine practice.

Private messages and their attachments are excluded from this automated pipeline, including reported messages. Intentionally reported message excerpts remain available for human review through the existing reporting process.

We send only the eligible reported text or image, not account identifiers, the reporter’s identity, their explanatory note, or private drafts. We do not use this content to train models or opt it into provider training. OpenAI’s API data controls govern provider handling, including safety-review exceptions for image inputs.

Automated classifications are advisory and can make mistakes. They do not automatically hide content, apply labels, suspend accounts, dismiss reports, or contact authorities. A person makes those decisions; uncertain or unsupported results go to human review. Members can appeal a removal or an adult label through Woofer support.

7. International users and transfers

Woofer is based in the United States and welcomes members worldwide. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from the place where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

8. How long we keep information

  • Account and profile information is kept while an account remains active or until it is deleted or anonymized after a valid request.
  • Removed Woofs, media, and private edit revisions may be kept for up to 14 days to support recovery and safety operations.
  • Ordinary closed reports are retained for one year. Severe or permanent-enforcement records may be kept longer when necessary for safety, legal, or enforcement reasons.
  • Technical, security, and administrator audit records are retained no longer than reasonably needed for their operational, security, or legal purpose.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can update much of your profile, privacy, audience, notification, and safety information in Woofer Settings, including scheduling account deletion from Settings → Account. You can also email privacy@woofersocial.com to ask to access or correct information, request deletion or deactivation, object to or restrict certain processing, request a portable copy of information you gave us, or withdraw consent where we rely on it.

We may ask for information needed to verify that a request is really yours. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local privacy regulator.

10. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including account access controls, private media storage, access-limited service systems, and security logging. No online service is perfectly secure, so please use a unique, strong password and contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

11. Age requirement

Woofer is for people 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that someone under 17 has created an account, we will take appropriate steps to close the account and remove personal information as required by law.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Woofer or privacy laws change. We will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice or ask for consent when required by law.
